More than 1,700 hectares of Romanian vineyards are planted with Tamaioasa Romaneasca. Its long presence across several of the country's historic wine-growing areas has resulted in a remarkable diversity of styles, each shaped by local climate, soils and winemaking traditions.

In Cotnari, one of Romania's historic centres for naturally sweet wines, Tamaioasa Romaneasca can develop extraordinary aromatic complexity. Extended ripening and carefully selected grapes can produce concentrated wines with notes of honey, beeswax, dried fruit and flowers, together with the freshness required for graceful evolution in bottle.

Further southeast, Murfatlar benefits from abundant sunshine and the moderating influence of the Black Sea. Here the variety can reach full aromatic maturity, producing generous wines with ripe fruit, floral perfume and, in sweeter styles, considerable richness and concentration.

In Oltenia, both Segarcea and Dragasani offer distinctive interpretations of the grape. The combination of warm growing conditions, varied soils and significant temperature differences between day and night can preserve freshness while allowing its intense aromatic personality to develop fully.

Tamaioasa Romaneasca also has an important historical presence at Pietroasa, within the Dealu Mare wine-growing area. The warm conditions here favour expressive, concentrated wines in which floral aromas, ripe fruit and honeyed nuances can acquire impressive depth.

This diversity of terroirs demonstrates the versatility of Tamaioasa Romaneasca. Whether vinified dry, off-dry or sweet, the variety retains its unmistakable aromatic signature and remains one of the most compelling expressions of Romania's traditional white-wine heritage.
