Domeniile Samburesti

Domeniile Samburesti is one of Romania's historic wine estates, rooted in a long viticultural tradition on the hills overlooking the Olt River. Closely associated with the Bratianu family and shaped in its early modern period by French oenologist August Joseph Ville, Samburesti became known particularly for its structured, age-worthy red wines.

Today, the estate farms approximately 500 hectares of vineyards spread across plateaus and gently sloping hillsides. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Feteasca Neagra form the core of the red wine portfolio, while Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Muscat Ottonel contribute freshness and aromatic character to the estate's white wines.

Renewed vineyards and modern cellar technology have brought a contemporary dimension to this historic property while preserving its established identity. From accessible everyday wines to more ambitious cellar-worthy bottlings, Domeniile Samburesti continues to express the distinctive character of this old Oltenian vineyard.
